London Museum of Water & Steam
The London Museum of Water & Steam tells the story of London’s sewage and water supply network.
Before becoming an industrial museum the site was a water pumping station. Situated on the River Thames in Brentford, supplying water from the river to homes and businesses in West London. It’s a fascinating story of how Victorian engineering helped make London the city it is today.
We were asked to design interpretation panels for several new exhibits and a whole new gallery which is due to open in 2018. The panels look great, mirroring the current design style. Indeed, the client is so pleased we have also been commissioned to design the handbook for the Museum’s volunteers.
Since their refurbishment the museum has doubled its visitor numbers and exceeded visitor target numbers by 15%.
Vickie’s freelance graphic design service is ideal because we only need design work done occasionally. Having a professional designer available just when you need them is perfect for us. We know we can rely on Vickie – her work is always fabulous, she’s efficient and meticulous, and she’s really lovely to work with too. We can’t recommend her highly enough.
